As an independent non-profit Quality Improvement consulting organization, Healthcentric Advisors works with the provider community to achieve improvement in a wide variety of topics across the healthcare continuum.
In addition, we have served as a Medicare contractor since 1995, currently supporting CMS’ Mid-Atlantic (Region 2) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) in collaboration with our partners at IPRO and Qlarant.

Learn About Our QIN-QIO Engagement
For over 30 years, Healthcentric Advisors has served as a trusted partner to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Quality Improvement Organization (QIO). What began in Rhode Island expanded to include all six New England states and eventually grew through collaboration with Qlarant and IPRO under the IPRO Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO), collectively supporting 11 states (Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont) as well as the District of Columbia.
Under the current QIO contract cycle (May 2025 – May 2030), 7 QIN-QIOs work directly with nursing homes, hospitals, and physician practices to improve the quality and safety of care for Medicare beneficiaries. Healthcentric Advisors partners with IPRO and Qlarant to support the Mid-Atlantic / Region 2 QIN-QIO (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia), providing technical assistance, data analytics, evidence-based intervention strategies, and customized training and education. Our areas of focus include disease prevention, quality and patient safety, chronic condition management, behavioral health, emergency preparedness, care coordination, and addressing workforce challenges.
Quality Solutions for All Healthcare Settings

We implemented a multifaceted education and tools project to promote effective discussions between healthcare providers, patients, and families around future care planning. Drawing from the My Care, My Choice, My Voice campaign, it provides conversation starters, planning worksheets, and billing details to facilitate advanced care planning across the continuum.

With Rhode Island Department of Health funding, we launched specialized infection control education for 175 nursing home and assisted living staff to help struggling facilities meet requirements and prevent outbreaks through proper procedures. Our quality experts also partner with healthcare leadership on data-driven initiatives addressing safety, readmissions, and stabilizing vulnerable organizations.

Through CNA Online, we streamlined CNA training in Rhode Island to rapidly credential over 100 new hires using a “work as you learn model” with generous grant funding. This helps alleviate pandemic-related nursing home staff losses and promotes workforce stability, ensuring high-quality care for our elderly population during challenging times.
