Healthcentric Advisors is proud to lead a 6-month workforce development program for the RI Department of Labor and Training. The Skilled to Support: Equipping Rhode Island Nursing Home Staff for Substance Use Care initiative will strengthen the capacity of Rhode Island’s nursing home workforce to care for a growing population of residents with substance use disorders.
Through a comprehensive program of assessment, training, and tailored support, up to 50 staff will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to deliver compassionate care to people experiencing substance use disorder. The program includes work-based learning opportunities that provide participants with practical, on-the-job training experience.
This initiative is funded through the Real Jobs Rhode Island (RJRI) program and aligns with the Governor’s Rhode to Prosperity initiative. As RJRI evolves to better meet employer needs, all programs now include work-based learning components that provide hands-on experience to ensure workers are fully prepared for their roles. This approach creates stronger career pathways and equips Rhode Islanders with the skills needed to thrive in today’s economy.
