Diabetes care often emphasizes weight, but research shows that weight-centric approaches can contribute to patient disengagement, stigma, and poorer health outcomes. Clinicians want to provide the best care possible, but navigating these conversations can be challenging. This session will explore how clinical professionals can integrate a Size-Inclusive Care framework to foster trust, enhance patient retention, and support sustainable health behaviors. Participants will gain practical, evidence-based tools to navigate discussions around nutrition, movement, medication, and behavioral health in ways that reduce harm, honor autonomy, and improve long-term engagement in care.
